The American Brahman Breeders Association (ABBA) is pleased to launch its new genomically enhanced Tenderness Expected Progeny Difference (EPD). This new EPD combines both actual harvest data and GeneSTAR DNA results to generate the most accurate Tenderness EPD ever offered by the ABBA.
Since 2003, the ABBA has utilized a general Tenderness EPD that was strictly based off of the Warner-Bratzler Shear Force test when used on actual carcasses. Now, GeneSTAR DNA results have been applied to this original test, and have consequently increased the accuracy of the EPD.
This is just one of the many tools that the ABBA uses to help generate revenue for ABBA members and to increase the marketability of the Brahman breed.
